Viðarneisti – it’s Icelandic for “wood spark” but also a play of the two musicians last names.
Cathy Wood and Tori Sparks came to me for promo photos recently. Cathy is the clarinet player and Tori plays vibraphone.
This shoot felt like a longtime coming, with Covid upsetting our schedule a few times. As well I am always a touch more on edge about creating images for other creatives, musicians especially, because I hold what they do in such high regard.
But these two were so fun to work with, definitely not the stuffy “serious musicians” you might think of from the classical world. We all had a lot of laughs in the process of finding some neat images.
