The other day this title came up in conversation on Dan Milnor’s discord. Dan works for Blurb Books but he comes by his passion for books honestly He’s is a big believer on books that tell stores not just in images but with words too. Pretty picture books are not enough, you have to tell us something.

I was in Bangkok way back at the turn of the millennium, I’d planned to be somewhere warm if the whole “Y2k” thing came to fruition. Bangkok was a crazy place to be coming rom sleepy little Winnipeg! It was loud and fast and relentless.

I wanted to buy a book there that captured some of that chaos of the city and to be honest this book revealed the dark side of transportation in Bangkok. I had ridden a few motorcycle taxis weaving through traffic and I was terrified. It really did remind me of the risks I was taking while there!

As you can see its layout and design only adds to the vide, it’s really something else, it feels like a journal with photo pasted in. I love it for its originality and its focus on a story that you’d never know about otherwise
