These special times have highlighted the need for a strong online presence, especially for small business. Having a strong presence outside of social media, allows you to design a brand that fits your business. Investing in that brand requires good design and images. You need good photography for small business websites. Committing to good images doesn’t have to be huge outlay. The key is it requires is a strong sense of what you need, and being organized.
Designer Eva Hemminger contacted me to do photography for the website refresh of Yoga With Joy, now called Joy Somatics. The new website was to reflect in the expanding scope of services offered with a component that allowed online booking.
Eva had a “wireframe” of the site to share, with a shot list of images that Joy and Eva had come up with. When it was time to do the shoot, they had everything ready, the props, the people, and the shot list. Executing it was very efficient so it allowed us time to explore other creative avenues and find more interesting images that added to the library.
The new website looks great, features images throughout, and the same the images have been used on social media platforms and as a result provide a visual continuity to the brand.
